Happy 2009!

It’s the new year and our resolution is to keep on adding posts sporadically. I don’t think you people much care as there aren’t acutally any of you out there who actually subscribes to this blog.

Of course I may be wrong, but that’s really unlikely.

Anyways, to celebrate this new year (which somehow reminds me to celebrate the 20th of January), we are going to give you a double feature review on Sunshine and the X-Files movie. Continue reading ‘Happy 2009!’

Review, The Sign of Four

This was originally written as a book response to an independent reading assignment. My book was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Sign of Four. Some of you may have heard of him. (not meant to be patronizing at all)

I thought it was too snarky (and I thought it was due on Monday and not Wednesday) so I wrote a new one.

This is a long one folks. I won’t blame you if you’re too weak to handle so many words.

Aether

Taking my cue from the other blog that informed me of my horrible mistake. (See my failure here) I’m going to review Aether.

It’s a wonderful flash game.
The graphics are simple, and the gameplay is intuitive. (I feel like I’m copying and pasting words now.)
And there’s this interpretive arty thingy going on. It reminds me of the sort of games that you just don’t have any idea what you’re doing, but it’s fun.

And it turns out it’s a puzzle/adventure game. Yeah, I wouldn’t have known that either, if I hadn’t read the author’s notes. (I played it on Kongregate, mind you.)

And, do you know what? It had me come back three times just to finish it. A good game will have a person do that. And it really does remind me of a the point-and-click adventure games of eld. (Eld, in this case, meaning the sort that you can figure out with the proper amount of challenging. Remember, too much challenging in your diet can lead to heart problems.)

If you’d like to comment about how you hated the game, there’s a handy form for it.
Just click on the Blog Post’s title, if you haven’t done so already.
And, start bashing me with a heavy stick about how I suck, and how my game choices suck.

Actually don’t bash me about how I suck. Personal attacks are bad, and personal attacks don’t really have much substance anyway.

IBM Model M

I’m on a blogging roll today.

Maybe it’s because I don’t have homework.

Continuing…

I got My IBM Model M keyboard in the mail yesterday. I love this keyboard. It has the most awesome springy sounds sound whenever I hit any of the keys. It just sounds freakin’ awesome.

I love typing with this. Hopefully it’ll help me complete the daunting task that is NaNoWriMo.

After NaNoWriMo I plan to convert my keyboard from boring drab

Old Beige IBM Keyboard that sounds so very nice when it is typed upon.

To not-boring, not-drab

I love Steampunk.

I probably shouldn’t use the word courtesy since I didn’t really ask. Whatever.

Update:

Stupid me I filed this under rants…

Google Chrome

Alright, Google Chrome was released some odd-what days ago. And I think it’s about time I reviewed it.

I like the browser. It’s shiny.

But, this wouldn’t be much of a review without harsh criticism.

There are only four criticisms I can think of for Google Chrome.

  1. NO ADD-ONS! — This is important people, add-ons are useful and fun. Although, I suppose it doesn’t matter that much to me.
  2. HORRIBLE FOR ORGANIZING BOOKMARKS! — I have a lot of bookmarks, I bookmark a lot of things. This isn’t a problem with Firefox, since most of the bookmarks are hidden away in that drawer where everything is an ugly disorganized mess. But with Google Chrome, all I get is a bookmark tool bar and the “Other Bookmarks” drop down menu is wierd to use.
  3. FLASH CRIPPLES GOOGLE CHROME! — It probably doesn’t for other people, but it does for me. Maybe it’s my computer, but this review is about MY experience.
  4. I’ve Married Firefox — I don’t think any body part of mine will make it out okay if Firefox heard about my affair with Google Chrome.

If you have an experience you want to share about your browser, or if you think I’m horribly wrong. Comment, don’t just tell your friends about how I’m an idiot. Tell me too.

Also Internet Explorer should burn in hell. Along with Hitler.

Fucking piece of shit.
